Building community is so much more than the number of followers you have or how many clients purchase your package. Building community is a sense of belonging. It’s trust. And it’s connection.

If you’re a business owner, then you need to create a sense of community with your clients. It doesn’t matter if you have a mom & pop shop, and Etsy store, or a coaching business. That sense of community is what brings repeat customers and referrals.

If you’re ready for more clients, referrals, and repeat customers, then it’s time to build your business on a foundation of community that’s unique to you and what you offer.

My Story

I didn’t always know how to make friends or build community. In fact, I was often alone and people didn’t like being around me. I was the kid that was just a little too obnoxious and the teen that never talked on the phone. I went to university and didn’t understand boundaries.

Then one day, shortly after our second daughter was born I found myself crying uncontrollably and so afraid I’d hit our oldest child. I was alone and I had no one to call for help or support. It was the biggest wake up call of my life. (Don’t worry, I didn’t hit anyone, I called a helpline instead).

That moment changed my life.

I read every self-help and personal development book I could find. I re-read my sociology texts, and re-took a non-violent communications class. I read my old nursing text books about community building and management. I practiced using words of affirmation, acknowledgment, and connection.

I became a mother’s mentor to help other women who were alone and struggling. I participated in communities and built. communities. Now I have a rich life filed with friends both online and in person.

I’ve learned a lot about people and community and I want to share what I’ve learned with you so you don’t have to struggle the way I did.

I Love Animals

We currently have 3 cats and a giant doggo – they’re all rescues and  named after Disney characters.

I’m happily married to Ryan, together we have 4 kiddos and we homeschool the younger two.

I love my garden! I have 9 different varieties of roses, 4 types of peonies, plus fruit trees and shrubs.
